About the role:
The Technical Business Analysts will investigate and analyse API and service-related issues, recommend solutions, and produce key artefacts. The role acts as a bridge between Product Squads and the backend team to define API specifications and facilitate collaboration. It ensures effective communication among stakeholders to support service design, development, and delivery while identifying and implementing process optimisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and analyse problems in new and existing APIs/services, recommend solutions, and produce technical artefacts.
- Elicit engineering requirements, translate business needs into API specs, and document sequence diagrams, business flows, and user stories.
- Work closely with frontend teams, architecture teams, product managers, delivery leads, cloud engineering teams, and SMEs to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize the product backlog based on business value and timelines.
- Ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements and collect early feedback from stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, showcases, and Agile ceremonies to support product and technical solutions.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvements within existing services and workflows.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong API experience - ability to document API specifications, define API contracts, and work with tools like Swagger & Postman.
- Technical background preferred (Development or QA) with the ability to analyse systems and data flows.
- Experience working with development teams to define API request/response formats, sequencing, and low-level solution details.
- Strong problem-solving skills - ability to identify bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements.
- Experience working in complex technology environments using multiple delivery frameworks.
- Strong Agile experience, including running Scrum ceremonies, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills - ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders on complex problems with ambiguous requirements.
