We're seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex IT projects within a structured delivery environment for our client. If you bring a software or systems background and experience working in or with telecommunications providers, this role offers the perfect opportunity to apply your knowledge in a fast-paced, delivery-focused team.

About the Role

As a Technical PM, you will manage the end-to-end delivery of IT projects, ensuring that scope, budget, and timelines are controlled within a defined Project Delivery Framework. You'll work across cross-functional teams, engaging stakeholders, third-party vendors, and internal technology groups to deliver quality outcomes in either Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, execute, and finalise IT projects to align with strategic goals
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Monitor project performance and proactively address risks and issues
- Engage with key stakeholders across business and technology units
- Facilitate Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies as appropriate
- Lead regular project updates, steering committee reporting, and governance activities
- Ensure compliance with IT governance and security frameworks
- Manage third-party vendors, delivery partners, and internal technical resources
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and drive continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

- 3-7 years' experience in IT project management roles
- Strong background in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with Agile, Waterfall, and/or DevOps methodologies
- Proficiency with project tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or similar
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
- Experience or exposure to telco environments (NBN, Telstra, Optus, Vodafone) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of application development, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT is an advantage
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications preferred
